Description of yoga lessons 2010 - 11 - 12

Yoga exercises (yoga asanas): Normally we associate exercise with sweat in the gym with a lot of fast, intense effort to overcome our limits to violence. In yoga postures (yoga-asanas) we give more emphasis on harmony of movement with breath and focus. We respect our limits, but with the help of breathing and concentration limits we have expanded the use of force in the body. We work primarily internal muscles (located close to vital organs and bones). It is a holistic system. The effect is not only on the body but also to the mind, breath and our mood. It affects the whole of our being mostly our immune and nervous system. According to the yoga posture is also attitude to life. Posture, breathing, mind and psychological well-being function as communicating vessels in interaction. Improvement after yoga practice is impressive and will promote your abilities. More on the exercise of yoga (asana)>>

Yoga breathing (Pranayama): The breath is so personal and unique to everyone as a fingerprint. Everyone  breathes in his very own different way. It is adjusted automatically according to our activities and our mood. But what we have in common, is how we limit and cut our breath. For example stress and anxiety makes it shallow, hasty, poor breath, they cuts it. We do not use all the muscles associated with breathing. We practice yoga with rich, deep and long breath. This is important because our breath is the main and most easily accessible source of energy, strength, clarity and renewal that we have. According to the tradition of yoga breathing is a key provider of Prana (Prana = bio-energy) and techniques to enhance and balance prana are called Pranayama. That is why yoga practice is done with awareness of breathing. Each yoga-asana is supported by its own respiration. But it is also an autonomous part of a yoga program where we give more emphasis on liberalization of breath. We increase, balance the breath and release it from the subconscious strains that limit it. In this way we create an ideal environment for its release, a strong and flexible body by the balanced yoga-asanas that have preceded in our yoga classes. More on Pranayama>>

Yoga Relaxation (Yoga Nidra) & Inward Journey: An ideal way to remove the stress and tension from your body and mind. Occurs when complete of the yoga program and removes muscle fatigue may have been created by the exercise (yoga-asana). Yoga Nidra is guided relaxation ideal for the elimination of muscular, mental and emotional tension. So you feel relaxed and refreshed after practicing yoga. Particularly beneficial for the removal of chronic stress and tension. It is so beneficial and valuable to us and it is asked for as a separate program or session. With specific topics when we want to do something more specialized. More on Guided Relaxation, Yoga Nidra and Self-Hypnosis>>

Here we present the basic guidelines that we follow in yoga programs at our Yoga Center in Athens Greece. It is the part that moves our practice. Specifically, Hatha Yoga will give you gifts along with other techniques. Yoga breathing (Pranayama), guided relaxation, meditation to yoga will free us from anxiety, stress and tension. Stress, tension and anxiety are easily faced by yoga with techniques such as Guided Relaxation or "Yoga Nidra" or the "Inward journey". Yoga is the real cure for mental, physical and emotional fatigue that can afflict us. The body with minimal movement will give you its lost energy. We bring the curved body to rise up. The split mind will promote the ability to concentrate. Restricted breath will open supported by the body. Breathing opens we "open" with it and we get entirely into our own lives.
