  Positions for Meditation

What is important is the physical stance we keep in meditation to help gather and process to achieve the meditation. Most prefer the traditional sitting yoga positions for meditation as easier position like a cross-legged (Sukhasana). The most agile prefer the lotus position (Padmasana). It is a symbolic position. It is important because it locks the spine, gives stability to the seat and that helps also the stability of mind. In the lotus we can be left completely undistracted in the meditation process. Do not be discouraged, also in half lotus, the spinal column locks again. The truth is that without any inconvenience we should be able to keep the attitude we choose. What most of us prefer and feel more feasible approach is the "hero" (Virasana). In the integrated form, sit down between the calves, with appropriate support everyone can do it. In our Yoga Center in Athens Greece we have special yoga meditation stools to sit on the basin and the calves without effort, and correct stabilize the attitude of the body. They are specifically designed to support the spine. All offers great convenience and comfort and all the can. We need great agility for the final position Virasana. This stability and comfort gives real help to get concentration in meditation. The comfort that these special stools give always surprise because from the beginning immediately the position gives awareness, a sense of breathing, the natural curves of the spine and the right attitude that we always must have. With the meditation stools it is easy to open and be aware of both our inner world, the mind and open our perception of stimuli we receive from the external environment. This is an opening and enlargement of the concept of mind and not just meditation, and it opens us to life. The attitude of the body is a way of life. It improves the quality of life.

It is important to feel comfortable in meditation and even on a common chair we can have an excellent concentration. What the special stools offer to us we can also have in a chair. The right seat creates comfort for the body, easy breathing and plenty of space for breath. This is not only about meditation or meditation lessons, it affects us in our everyday life. We live in a society where in most jobs we spent hours seated. That is, how we sit correctly and comfortably in a chair is so beneficial and important for the spine, for all the bones and the mind that is an issue that is almost always present in our yoga lessons. If it is not easy to get to the yoga classes we recommend you to take even once the session. The session also concerns the long breath that is associated with the mind, the psychological situation, meditation, the attitude of the body because the body shows, respectively, the "attitude" that we have in life.
