In difficult circumstances we live now meditation is more necessary than ever. The more we meditate the more we make an energy grid over the globe and improve the world. Meditation is the heritage of yoga. In fact some wonder whether yoga is complete if we skip meditation. It may not always be followed by yoga but really without it or without breathing, yoga seems incomplete, sterile. It is impressive that with the support we have in the yoga class, how easily people, even the new ones, find the internal silence of meditation. It develops the ability to focus beyond expectations, beyond all anticipation. Under the guidance of I.Kenis everything comes and is so easy and natural. In our Yoga Center in Athens Greece and our meditation lessons you can find:
Guided Meditation: It is the right way to start for those who have no experience with meditation, the beginners. In this we give some instructions to enter the state of meditation. It is an easy method to enter in our meditation. In Guided Relaxation of Yoga, in Yoga Nidra and in Self-hypnosis we give consecutive instructions as we are giving guidance. Here in Guided Meditation it is different. The instructions are simpler. They are more practical so they give us the right directions, the necessary meditation techniques. We can create the attitude of meditation or give some points of concentration. But it is an internal situation, a process beyond the techniques. It's easier when you meditate with others, it is both a personal journey and experience.
Za Zen Meditation: Meditation Za Zen is translated as "silent seat" or "seating in silence." We use this term in the tradition of "Zen" because for the usual word ''meditation'' which is not so precise, different schools have very significant differences which may include vivid movement. So we chose this term because the daily meditation is not just a name but at the same time a directive (sitting in silence). It indicates the position of body and mind. It is the most accessible and free meditation. It is easier to do meditation with others, so come to our meditation classes>>
Meditation with Mantra: (specific sound - vibration) is more like a preparation for meditation than standard meditation. We use special sounds so that their vibration promotes concentration. Improving concentration is one of the many benefits we have with the practice of meditation and yoga in general. Concentration begins when we are tuned with the vibration of sound. Especially when using the primary and primordial vibration symbolizing the universe the ultimate "Ohm." Then when the vibration of the sound vibrates in us it exceeds the bounds of meditation and concentration, and is united with the Absolute, the universe and we experience the fulfillment, Completeness.
Vipassana Meditation: It combines meditation where we are normally seated in a position to feel comfortable with walking breaks with conscious, knowledgeable, ''extra'' devices that promote concentration. There is also a subject of concentration that is usually just the natural movement of the breath or the feeling that we have or whatever helps us to gather and promote awareness. It's easier when others too are coordinated with it. That is why we form groups for meditation ... You also tune in and join us, get information HERE>>
Meditation with open eyes: "The Mirror of the Soul" or if you prefer "The Mirror of the Mind." It takes place in specific circumstances and needs special environment. It leads to awareness in a way that is so completely clear that it is like having a mirror that reflects our interior so we can see inside us, our minds, our thoughts. The participants tell us that it is a powerful experience. We do not do it often but when it is done it is an extraordinary event. information HERE>>
* Because there was a request to practice meditation in a lying half-lying position now we have the infrastructure and the necessary space to meet this demand. The "Lotus Position" (Padmasana) is not a required condition for meditation. We have special meditation stools, cushions and even on a regular chair we can meditate when we sit in a certain way. Because in meditation what is important is the "position an d attitude" of the mind.
